Γνωρίζουμε ότι η πραγματικότητα στην καραντίνα μπορεί να γίνει ανυπόφορη: η απομόνωση από το φυσικό περιβάλλον και από τους ανθρώπους που συναναστρεφόμαστε στην καθημερινότητά μας εύκολα ρίχνει το ηθικό μας μας κάνει να νιώθουμε μόν@, αποξενωμέν@, αποκομμέν@ από τους υπόλοιπους ανθρώπους. 
Υπάρχουν όμως τρόποι για να μην αισθανόμαστε έτσι. 

Η κοινότητα της Gen (S) οργανώνει το Photovoice: Symbio! 🌱

• Τί είναι το Photovoice;

Είναι μια έκθεση με φωτογραφίες από τα μέλη μιας κοινότητας που παρουσιάζει το θέμα μέσα από τον προσωπικό (και φωτογραφικό) φακό του κάθε ατόμου. Δε χρειάζεται να είσαι φωτογράφος για να συμμετέχεις. Αρκεί μονάχα να παρατηρείς και να πιάνεις στο φακό σου στιγμές εμπνευσμένες από το θέμα. 

Οι φωτογραφίες συνοδεύονται από ένα κείμενο (μια φράση, πρόταση, στίχο, τραγούδι, παράγραφο, ακόμη και από μια ημερομηνία ή ένα emoji!) που συμπληρώνει την εικόνα. Έτσι, δημιουργείται μια φωτογραφική έκθεση γεμάτη δημιουργικότητα, ελευθερία έκφρασης και μέσων για όλους.

• Γιατί Symbio;

Από τη λέξη Συμβιώκαινο, συμβίωσις και καινός ( = καινούριος). Σύμφωνα με τον Γκλεν Άλμπρεχτ που χρησιμοποίησε πρώτη φορά τον όρο, είναι η περίοδος της Γης που χαρακτηρίζεται από αρμονική συμβίωση όλων των έμβιων όντων (ζώων, φυτών, μυκήτων, μικροοργανισμών, και ανθρώπων), σε αντίθεση με το λεγόμενο «Ανθρωπόκαινο» που βιώνουμε τώρα (όπου ο άνθρωπος κυριαρχεί έναντι των υπόλοιπων τμημάτων της φύσης).

• Το Photovoice Symbio χωρίζεται σε δύο μέρη

1. Symbio: Disconnect. Αφορά τη ζωή στην απομόνωση από τη φύση, ειδικά τώρα στην καραντίνα.
   Πώς αντιλαμβανόμαστε εμείς τα νέα αυτά δεδομένα; Πώς είναι πια η καθημερινή μας ζωή; Τί σκεφτόμαστε σε αυτή τη νέα κατάσταση; Πώς νιώθουμε; Πώς αυτή η παγκόσμια κρίση έδωσε πάτημα στην τρομολαγνεία
2. Symbio: Reconnect. Η ζωή μετά την καραντίνα.
   Πώς έχει πάλι αλλάξει η καθημερινότητά μας μετά το πέρασμα αυτής της κρίσης; Πόσο κοντά νιώθουμε με τους άλλους ανθρώπους και το περιβάλλον; Πώς επηρέασε τη φύση αυτή η κατάσταση; Πώς, μετά από μια περίοδο απομόνωσης, βουτάμε ξανά στη συμβίωση;
   
   
   Το 1ο Μέρος (Disconnect) άρχισε στις 23 Μαρτίου και έκλεισε στις 20 Απριλίου 2020.

To 2o Μέρος (Reconnect) ξεκινάει στις 7 Μαΐου! Μπορείτε να στείλετε τις φωτογραφίες με τα κείμενά σας στο connect@generationsymbiocene.gr με θέμα «Symbio: Reconnect». 
Στείλτε την αγαπημένη σας φωτογραφία με ή χωρίς όνομα, ακόμη και αν δεν μένετε στην Αθήνα ή στην Ελλάδα. Δεν είναι απαραίτητο να συμμετάσχετε και στις δύο φάσεις της έκθεσης.

Deadline για το Symbio: Reconnect είναι η Κυριακή 31 Μαΐου 2020.
Ο τρόπος με τον οποίο θα γίνει η έκθεση θα ανακοινωθεί μετά το πέρας του δεύτερου σκέλους.

We know that life during quarantine can be hard; isolation from the natural environment and our people can easily break our spirit and make us feel alone, isolated, and separated from the rest of our community.
However, there are ways to fight those feelings. 

The Gen (S) community launches the project Photovoice: Symbio!

• What is a Photovoice?

It’s a photo exhibition with pictures by the members of a community, that presents a certain topic through each individual’s (and camera’s) lense. You don’t need to be a photographer to participate; just to observe and capture moments inspired by the topic. :)

The photographs are accompanied by some sort of text (a phrase, a sentence, song, paragraph, even a date or an emoji!) that completes the picture. This way, the end result is a photo exhibition filled with creativity, freedom of expression and freedom of means for everybody.

• Why Symbio;

From the Symbiocene, a term coined by australian philosopher Glenn Albrecht; It comes from συμβίωσις (sumbíōsis) which literally means a ‘living together’ or ‘companionship’, and καινός (kainos) which means ‘new’. Commonly transcripted as -cene, it is a suffix used to identify geological epochs of the Earth. Thus, the Symbiocene is the era of companionship, of the ‘living together’ of all forms of life (animals, plants, fungi, microorganisms and humans); it comes in contrast with the ‘Anthropocene’ that we experience now (characterized by humans' dominance over other forms of life).

• Photovoice Symbio consists of two parts

1. Symbio: Disconnect. Life in seclusion from nature, especially now in quarantine.
   
   How do we perceive this new data? How is our everyday life now? What do we think about this new situation? How do we feel in it? How did this global crisis give space for the ‘love of terror’ to grow?
2. Symbio: Reconnect. Life after quarantine.
   How has our everyday life changed through this crisis? How close do we feel with other people and nature? How did this situation affect nature? How, after a period of isolation, do we dive again into symbiosis?

Part 1 - Disconnect - started on March 23rd and finished on April 20th 2020. 
Part 2 - Reconnect - begins on May 7th! You can send your photos with the accompanying texts at connect@generationsymbiocene.gr with object ‘Symbio: Reconnect’. Send your favourite picture with or without your name, even if you don’t live in Athens or Greece. You are not obligated to participate in both phases of the exhibition, but you are welcome to if you feel like it!

Deadline for Symbio: Reconnect is Sunday 31st of May 2020.
The form of the exhibition will be announced after the deadline of the open call.
